25 March 1957, France and the 5 other countries - members of the ECSC signed the Treaty about the European Common Market and Euratom. At the end of the 4th Republic, France is under Guy Mollet's Governement who was a true convinced European.(February 1956 - May 1957). Politically speaking, the government received full powers from the House of Commons in order to lead the fight "to the death in Algeria". The military service has gone up from 18 to 27 months in summer 1957. Socially speaking, the third week of paid holidays has been granted.
