In West-Germany, the "Spring of Prague" and the invasion in CSSR was seen in one context with the invasion in Berlin 1953 and the building of the wall in Berlin between DDR and BRD in 1961, which was only a few years before. The invasion shows the interest of the Soviet Union in stability in its satellite states and their ideological inflexibility in that time. It also proves that the Soviet Union could only conserve the current condition with the use of violence. The violence increased the fear towards the Soviet- Russian empire and fixed the "iron curtain".
