Bombing of civil targets was massivly used in World War II. Nazi-Germany and the allies used the bombings as a strategic way to weaken the enemy. The reality in the cities was gruesome but got daily life. The reality in the German cities and the power of the "Combined Bomber offensive" from R.A.F. and USAAF since 1943 stood in complet contrast and conflict to the Nazi propaganda of "total war" at that time.
