The Berlin Wall Fall is a major historical event. The Belgian press understood that unanimously and the presentation of the event in the different newspapers is very clear : the journalists know they are living historical hours and the tone of their articles is rather euphoric. Almost all the journalists put the news of the Wall Fall in historical perspective and take the readers back to the big events of post-war such as the Yalta conference and the beginning of the Cold War. Henceforth we know that this period comes to an end, thanks in particular to the changes started in USSR by the General Secretary of the communist party Mikhaïl Gorbatchev.
