Analysis of the Sources collected

The analysis is based on original press documents, mainly from the daily press, representing the large ideological streams in French-speaking Belgium.

All the newspapers relay the information coming from the press agencies (Belga – Belgian agency, Havas - French agency, Reuter – British agency, Pat – Polish agency, D.N.B. – German agency, Stephany – Italian agency, Tass – Russian agency) which are in the service of their government in time of war. Moreover, the press has a duty to preserve secrecy and a magistrate is at the head of a consultative commission to judge that. ( "La Voix du Peuple", communist daily newspaper as well as one issue of the "Pourquoi pas?", containing a not very flattering portrait of the Reich ambassador are that way foreclosed). Therefore, we can notice a standardization of the newspapers contents.
