Interpretation of the source | The trial is at the beginning, but the judgement about the “criminal” Adolf Eichmann appears to be already clear, and that is underlined also by the fact that the accused is standing in the bullet-proof glass cage. The video doesn’t dwell to describe Eichmann’s personality, neither about his psychological nor physical aspects; rather it reports which was the trial organisation, quoting the judges that take part, and approximately the development of itself. |
Original Contents (English Translation) | The score is settled for Adolf Eichmann. The Nazi criminal is responsible for the extermination of millions of Jews before an Israeli court. The court, presided over by Moshe Landau with the judges Benjamin Halevy and Y. Raveh will pronounce itself on the crimes committed by E. during the Second World War. Eichmann, standing in the bullet-proof glass cage listens to the grave indictment read by the President Moshe Landau. The names of the Nazi extermination camps, the tragical names of Dachau, Auschwitz, Mauthausen more than once resound in the courtroom as well as the names of the Nazi leaders: Hitler, the implacable Himmler, the Gestapo chief Heyndrich. The defending counsel, the German lawyer Robert Servatius, has raised numerous objections and has tried to rescue Eichmann from the trial of the Israeli court, by alleging elegant procedure matters. The judges listened to him carefully but the general attorney Gideon Hausner invited the court to reject the instances of the Defence. When he has set out the facts Eichmann will have to answer for, he was implacable against the accused. |
