"L'Espresso", the weekly magazine close to the left, on September 5th, 1972 makes only a brief report of the facts leaving more room for different evaluations of the Israeli reaction, mainly their trying to decide between and immediate retaliation and a concession to the Palestinians. However, much of the blame is put on the German police who did not act as it should. Another weekly magazine “Panorama” reconstructs the events in details. A special edition of the news programme offers a detailed chronicle leading to the tragic end using images of the German TV, also used by the Italian press as pictures.
