Contextualisation of the sourceThe file shows St. Lucy’s Church, that was connected to the college of the Jesuits and doesn’t exist anymore. The front, apparently intact, hides internal rubble. Damages provoked either to the church or the surrounding buildings are evident. The street and the small square in front of the church are full of rubble.
Interpretation of the sourceBombings, even if directed against military targets – such as “Acciaierie” and “Fabbrica d’Armi” – hit frequently innocent people in their daily activities and familiar places.
