Syntethic Chronology

  • September 1939: German bombings on Warsaw
  • 1940: German bombings on Rotterdam (May); beginning of the “Battle of England” (August);
  • November 12th, 1940: In a few hours, the Italian navy stationed in the port of Taranto is completely destroyed by the RAF bombers
  • 1941: the Luftwaffe has the supremacy in the Eastern front skies; the RAF fails the attempts to bomb German airfields beyond the English Channel
  • December 7th, 1941: the Japanese air force attacks the American base in Pearl Harbor; World War Two starts for the USA too
  • June 1942: the US air force imposes the first important defeat on the Japanese navy (battle of the Midway – Pacific Ocean)
  • 1943: the RAF bombs the Ruhr area and German dikes (March to May); the RAF bombs the port of Hamburg (end of July); the USAF bombs oil fields in Rumania.
  • Autumn-Winter 1943-1944: Allied bombings on Berlin and the hole Germany and Italy (in spring and summer 1944 too).
  • April 1944: preparatory bombings on France; break of allied bombings on Germany until September
  • 1945: allied bombing on Dresden (February); USAF bombings on Japan, with fire-bombs too; August 6th: atomic bomb on Hiroshima; August 9th: atomic bomb on Nagasaki
